Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, set the standard for true service. “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Mark 10(45) His was a life of unselfish service and eventually the ultimate sacrifice.

To serve Him is the highest service one can aspire to. As we serve him we experience the joy of fellowship and communion with Him, as well as the knowledge that we are stockpiling eternal rewards.

Finally, we are afforded the distinct privilege of serving with others of like faith and persuasion. We sharpen the lives of our fellow ministers and workers as we serve together in the harvest field.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27(17)
